Pendidikan Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (S2)

Profil Singkat

Program Studi Pendidikan Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (S2) PPs Unnes secara resmi berjalan berdasarkan SK pendirian Program Studi Nomor 1557/D2.2/2007/2008. Berdasarkan SK pendirian tersebut Prodi Pendidikan IPS bergabung dengan prodi-prodi yang lain yang ada di PPs. Selanjutnya dengan dikeluarkanya Surat Keputusan Izin Operasional Nomor 1913/D/T2007 tertanggal 8 Juli 2007, secara legal Prodi S2 Pendidikan IPS diselenggaran terhitung mulai September 2007. Sesuai dengan ketentuan yang berlaku izin penyelenggaraan Program S2 Pendidikan IPS selalu ditinjau ulang atau diperpanjang. Pada tahun 2009 dengan dikeluarkannya Surat Keputusan Nomor 2483/D/T/K-N/2009 tertanggal 12 Juni 2009 Prodi S2 Pendidikan IPS diperpanjang. Perpanjangan ini tentunya didasarkan pada perkembangan Prodi S2 Pendidikan IPS yang menunjukan perkembangan yang positip, sepetti jumlah mahasiswa Prodi Pendidikan IPS yang selalu meningkat dari tahun ke tahun. Program Studi Pendidikan Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (S2) menyelenggarakan program Pendidikan Magister IPS sesuai Standar Nasional Pendidikan Tinggi yang menghasilkan lulusan magister bidang Pendidikan IPS. Sebagai magister Pendidikan IPS diharapkan memiliki kempuan sebagai Pendidik rumpun pendidikan IPS dan pengembang Pendidikan IPS yang berbeperan dalam mengembangkan dan memecahkan persoalan pendidikan serta persoalan-persoalan dalam masyarakat. Disamping itu Magister Pendidikan IPS diharapkan juga memiliki kemampuan sebagai peneliti dibidang Pendidikan IPS, dimana temuan atau hasil-hasil penelitiannya dapat memberi konstribusi dalam pengembangan IPS. Untuk mencapai keluaran sebagaimana tersebut diatas ada empat capaian lulusan yang dijadikan sebagai acuan, yaitu Capaian lulusan Sikap, Pengetahuan, Keterampilan umum dan Keterampilan Khusus.
