Deskripsi Program Studi

Bersama dengan Program Studi (Prodi) Kimia, Prodi Pendidikan Kimia berada di Jurusan Kimia Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (FMIPA). Selain sara perkuliahan lainnya, prodi ini memiliki tujuh ruang laboratorium, yaitu Laboratorium Kimia Dasar, Lab. Bioorganik, Lab. Kimia Fisika, Lab. Kimia Analitik, Lab. Kimia Anorganik, Lab. Komputasi, dan Lab. Micro Teaching yang sudah dilengkapi dengan berbagai peralatan multimedia sebagai sarana untuk pengembangan dan pembinaan keterampilan profesional kependidikan calon guru kimia. Instrumen modern di Laboratorium Kimia sebagai sarana peningkatan kompetensi profesional mahasiswa calon guru antara lain Gas Chromatography, Surface Area Analyzer, Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer, Spectrophotometer Visible, Spectrophotometer UV-Vis, Rotary Vacuum Evaporator, Polarimeter, dan COD reaktor.

Profil Lulusan

Program studi ini menyiapkan calon pendidik di bidang kimia yang memiliki empat kompetensi utama, yaitu paedagogik, profesional, sosial, dan kepribadian. Lulusan juga dipersiapkan mampu menjadi peneliti di bidang pendidikan kimia dan pengelola di lembaga pendidikan. Penguasaan kompetensi tersebut bertujuan agar mereka dapat berperan sebagai pendidik di bidang kimia dan memiliki bekal ilmu yang cukup di bidang kimia untuk melanjutkan studi ke jenjang yang lebih tinggi. Selama kuliah, para mahasiswa selain dibekali hardskill, juga softskill melalui kegiatan baik intra maupun ekstrakurikuler.

Alumninya 80% berkecimpung di bidang pendidikan baik sebagai guru atau dosen di berbagai sekolah/PT, instruktur/widyaiswara di lembaga pendidikan dan pelatihan, birokrat ataupun sebagai pengelola lembaga pendidikan. Sebagian yang lain berkarya sebagai praktisi dan analis pada berbagai industri, peneliti di lembaga riset, teknisi di laboratorium, analis, bekerja bidang industri farmasi/industri lain, perbankan, serta wirausahawan.
