Profil Singkat

Program Magister Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris (Master’s Program of English Language Education) adalah Program Magister dalam bidang ilmu pendidikan Bahasa Inggris yang menghasilkan guru, dosen, instruktur, praktisi pendidikan Bahasa Inggris dalam konteks pengajaran bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa asing. Mahasiswa dibekali pengetahuan dan keterampilan mengenai pendekatan, metode dan teknik serta strategi pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris dengan berbasis pada teori pemerolehan bahasa kedua (Second Language Acqusition theory), teori sociokultural (sociocultural theory), linguistik sistemik fungsional (Sistemic Functional Linguistics) dan technology-enhanced English language teaching and learning sehingga lulusan memiliki kompetensi pedagogik, kompetensi kepribadian, kompetensi profesional, dan kompetensi sosial.

Pengembangan sikap juga menjadi fokus dalam membentuk lulusan yang memiliki karakter kolaboratif, kreatif, komunikatif, dan berpikir kritis. Selain proses pembelajaran berorientasi outcome-based education, kegiatan-kegiatan akademik pada Program Magister Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris meliputi kegiatan penelitian dan pengabdian yang melibatkan mahasiswa dan kerja sama dengan lembaga-lembaga pendidikan mitra di dalam dan luar negeri, meliputi: visiting professor, joint lecture, general lecture, workshop, penelitian dan pengabdian kolaboratif, penulisan artikel penelitian, book chapter, serta pengembangan networking alumni pada tingkat regional, nasional, dan internasional.
