Surakarta – Another outstanding achievement has been earned by a student from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES). Sellya Saraswati Dewi, a student of the Sociology and Anthropology Education Study Program, secured Second Place in the Microteaching Competition at the National Student Competition of the Indonesian Association of Sociology and Anthropology Education Study Programs (APPSANTI) x CARVENOS 2026.
The award was announced on Saturday, August 1, 2026, during the National Working Meeting of the Indonesian Association of Sociology and Anthropology Education Study Programs (APPSANTI), held at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), Surakarta. The competition brought together students from Sociology and Anthropology Education programs across Indonesia to demonstrate their pedagogical competence, instructional creativity, communication skills, and classroom management abilities as prospective professional educators.
Sellya’s achievement demonstrates that students of the Sociology and Anthropology Education Study Program at FISIP UNNES possess strong competencies in designing and delivering innovative, student-centered, and engaging learning experiences. Throughout the competition, she successfully integrated subject-matter mastery, effective teaching strategies, instructional media, and interactive classroom communication into her microteaching performance.
This accomplishment was achieved under the supervision of Harto Wicaksono, S.Pd., M.A., who guided Sellya throughout the preparation process, including lesson planning, instructional design, teaching strategy development, and teaching simulations. This mentorship reflects the commitment of the Sociology and Anthropology Education Study Program at FISIP UNNES to preparing professional, innovative, and adaptive future educators capable of responding to the evolving demands of education.
Harto Wicaksono expressed his appreciation for Sellya’s dedication and hard work throughout the competition. According to him, the achievement is the result of consistent learning, continuous practice, and the student’s ability to translate educational theories into effective classroom practice.
“This achievement demonstrates that our students not only master educational theories but are also capable of applying them in creative, communicative, and student-centered teaching practices. I hope this success will inspire other students to continue improving their competencies as future professional educators,” he said.
This achievement further strengthens the academic culture of excellence in teaching quality and teacher preparation at FISIP UNNES. Beyond bringing pride to the Sociology and Anthropology Education Study Program, it also reflects the readiness of UNNES students to compete at the national level and to become educators capable of addressing the challenges of 21st-century education.

Through this accomplishment, FISIP UNNES students have once again demonstrated that academic excellence, professionalism, and a spirit of innovation are essential foundations for developing outstanding and globally competitive future educators.
