Semarang – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) has officially sent a student to participate in the International Lantip Program at Kasetsart University Laboratory School, Thailand. The program is part of FISIP UNNES’s efforts to provide students with teaching and educational practice experience in an international environment.
The student participating in the International Lantip Program is Yosafat Manuella Dhewita, an undergraduate student of the Social Studies and Anthropology Education Study Program, FISIP UNNES. Through this program, Yosafat will have the opportunity to broaden his academic and practical experience by becoming acquainted with the educational environment and learning practices at a school in Thailand.
The official send-off was led by Dean of FISIP UNNES, Prof. Dr. Arif Purnomo, S.Pd., S.S., M.Pd. The event was also attended by Vice Dean I for Academic Affairs, Dr. scient. med. Fadly Husain, S.Sos., M.Si.; Coordinator of the Social Studies and Anthropology Education Study Program, Dr. Atika Wijaya, S.A.P., M.Si.; Head of the International Cooperation Working Group, Dr. Ninuk Sholikhah Akhiroh, S.S., M.Hum.; and Head of Academic and Student Affairs Administration, Festi Zulfaturrohmah, S.Pd., M.I.Kom.
The placement at Kasetsart University Laboratory School will provide the student with an opportunity to gain first-hand experience of educational practices in a different national context. The experience is expected to broaden his understanding of learning management, educational interactions, and the dynamics of school environments from an international perspective.
For students of Social Studies and Anthropology Education, international teaching practice also provides an opportunity to understand diverse approaches to education and school culture. Interaction with the Thai academic environment can encourage students to compare their educational experiences in Indonesia with educational practices in other countries.
The International Lantip Program also strengthens FISIP UNNES’s commitment to preparing graduates with academic and professional competencies, as well as the ability to adapt to a global environment. International experience is expected to enhance students’ confidence while developing their communication and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
The program is aligned with the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by providing learning experiences that broaden students’ competencies and perspectives within a global context. The program also supports SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, particularly through the strengthening of cross-border educational cooperation and international academic networks.
Through the International Lantip Program in Thailand, FISIP UNNES continues to encourage students to gain not only practical experience within the national education system but also the readiness to interact and contribute to an increasingly interconnected global educational ecosystem.
