The Undergraduate Program in Veterinary Medicine emphasizes excellence in veterinary public health competencies, focusing on primary prevention based on the One Health approach to support human well-being.
The learning outcomes are designed to produce veterinary graduates with competencies that meet the Veterinary Competency Standards as stipulated by the Indonesian Association of Faculties of Veterinary Medicine, aiming to promote human welfare.
The curriculum is based on Outcome-Based Education (OBE), spanning 8 semesters with a total of 155 mandatory credits (SKS).

The vision of the Veterinary Medicine Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) is:
“To produce veterinary graduates with promotive and preventive competencies based on the One Health approach to support human well-being.”
MISSION
The mission of the Veterinary Medicine Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Negeri Semarang, is to:
1. Provide high-quality, comprehensive, and integrated veterinary education with an emphasis on promotive and preventive competencies.
2. Conduct relevant, in-depth, and interdisciplinary research to support education and the advancement of science and technology in veterinary medicine.
3. Implement community service based on research outcomes to educate and improve the welfare of society, with an emphasis on promotive and preventive competencies to support human well-being.
4. Develop the One Health approach to address challenges and threats in human-animal-environment health.
5. Establish strategic partnerships across various sectors, including public health, environmental, and agricultural sectors, to strengthen the One Health approach in addressing global health issues.
Minimum Accreditation
Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (S.K.H)
Professional Practitioner: A veterinarian with a comprehensive understanding of veterinary science and practice who supports promotive and preventive efforts through animal health services in accordance with the professional code of ethics for veterinarians.
Educator: A veterinarian capable of delivering education, particularly in promotive and preventive measures against various animal diseases and zoonoses, through research-based animal health approaches.
Collaborator: A veterinarian who is able to implement the One Health concept by collaborating across disciplines and institutions to strengthen holistic approaches in addressing animal and human health issues.
Food Safety Specialist: A veterinarian with expertise in food safety supervision, capable of ensuring the quality of food sources in accordance with food safety principles for the benefit of human well-being.
