Tasks and Functions

Based on Government Regulation Number 36 of 2022 concerning Legal Entity State University (PTNBH) of Semarang State University, UNNES has the following duties:

  1. Organizes academic education, vocational education, and professional education through the Study Program to produce graduates who have global competitiveness with a conservation perspective by referring to national standards of higher education and can refer to internationally applicable educational standards. 
  2. Conducts research to improve scientific publications, intellectual property, and the development of science and technology, as well as to improve society’s welfare and the nation’s competitiveness. 
  3. Organizes community service by applying education, science, technology, and humanities to create an independent, productive, and prosperous society through service, education, and/or community empowerment.

Tasks and Functions of Educational Field

  1. Education at UNNES, as referred to in Article 14 paragraph (1), is organized with a curriculum developed based on national standards of higher education to achieve the goals of UNNES and the objectives of national education in meeting and responding to national and international challenges. 
  2. Curriculum development, as referred to in paragraph (1), is evaluated periodically, continuously, and comprehensively by the needs of graduate users and the development of science and technology. 
  3. Curriculum development and curriculum evaluation, as referred to in paragraph (1) and paragraph 21, are regulated by the Rector’s Regulation after receiving consideration from the University Academic Senate. 

Description of Tasks and Functions of the Field of Research

  1. The implementation of research, as referred to in paragraph (f), is carried out in an integrated manner with the performance of education and community service. 
  2. Research is carried out in the form of scientific monodisciplinary, interdisciplinary, and multidisciplinary research programs scientifically. 
  3. Research is carried out by complying with academic norms and ethics by the principle of scientific autonomy. 
  4. Research results must be disseminated by seminars and/or published in reputable scientific journals, except for research results that are confidential, potentially disruptive, and/or harmful to the public interest. 
  5. The research results conducted and/or published, as referred to in paragraph (5), can be proposed to obtain intellectual property rights following the provisions of laws and regulations. 
  6. Guidelines for the implementation of research implementation, dissemination of research results, utilization of research results, protection of research implementation, and results are regulated by the Rector’s Regulation after receiving consideration from the University Academic Senate. 

Description of Tasks and Functions of Community Service Field

  1. The implementation of community service is integrated with educational and research activities. 
  2. Community service is conducted by complying with academic norms and ethics following the principle of scientific autonomy. 
  3. The results of community service, as referred to in paragraph (1), are used to develop education, science, technology, and humanities. 
  4. Guidelines for implementing community service are regulated by the Rector’s Regulation after consideration from the University Academic Senate.
