Brief Profile

English Education Study Program at Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) was established in 1965 when UNNES was still called Institut Keguruan Ilmu Pendidikan Semarang (IKIP Semarang). Under the direction of the Faculty of Languages and Arts, the Undergraduate English Education Study Program provides students with solid groundings in English language skills, English language education pedagogy, wide-ranging research related to the English language, as well as applied linguistics and other literary studies such as translation, English for business, drama, and so on.

English Education Study Program allows students to take general courses, core courses, and electives with a total of approximately 144 credits during the study period. Students are also required to carry out a Community Service Program, an Introduction to the School Scope, and a final project.

The study program also supports students’ participation in the Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program by the Ministry of Education. The study program has successfully sent students to participate in MBKM’s flagship programs, such as the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA), Kampus Mengajar (KM), Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka (PMM), and Magang Bersertifikat & Studi Independen (MSIB).
