“Rain falls, bringing stories—stories of a wounded world.”
The lyrics of Hujan (Rain) filled the air as Pradikta Wicaksono, better known as Dikta, performed at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), in Sekaran, Gunungpati, Semarang, on Wednesday, October 28, 2026. Not long after the song was performed, rain poured over the concert field, bringing his performance to an early end.
Before the rain arrived, Dikta expressed his hope that rain would also fall in Kalimantan and Sumatra. He shared the hope during his performance at Semarak FISIP 2026. However, the exact wording of his remarks was not available in the event notes.
Written by Dikta, Hujan is more than a song about rain. Its lyrics invite listeners to reflect on humanity’s relationship with nature and how people often forget that the world does not exist for humans alone.
“This world is not just about us; sometimes, we forget who we are,” reads one passage from the song.
The message took on a different meaning when actual rain began falling during the concert. The downpour forced Dikta to end his performance after singing just five songs. Despite the short set, he entertained hundreds of students who had gathered at the venue.
Wearing a black T-shirt, the former vocalist of Yovie & Nuno performed not only his own song but also two songs associated with the late Indonesian singer Chrisye. The concert was supported by Oronamin C, a beverage brand.
For Salsabila Nityasa, a Communication Studies student, watching Dikta perform in person was an exciting experience. Until then, she had mostly watched his performances on television or through a phone screen.
“It was so much fun watching Dikta, especially being able to see him from so close. He looked incredibly handsome. The songs he performed were amazing, too. It was just awesome,” Salsabila said.
Ayu Ihtirom, a History Studies student, shared a similar feeling. She was delighted to see Dikta in person after previously watching him only on television or through her phone.
“I’m happy I could see him in person. Usually, I only see him on TV or on my phone. Even though he is already 40, he still looks young,” Ayu said.
The rain brought Dikta’s performance to an earlier end than expected. Yet it also created an unforgettable coincidence: a song titled Hujan was performed just before the rain actually fell.
Semarak FISIP 2026 continued through Thursday, October 29, with the FISIP Ambassador selection scheduled as one of the closing events. For the students who attended Wednesday’s concert, however, Dikta’s five songs had already become part of a memorable story about music, rain, and hope.
