Selangor, Malaysia — Another impressive international achievement has been recorded by a student of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES). Arsyad Fillah Ramadhan, a student of the History Education Study Program, won a Bronze Medal in the Tourism and Culture sub-theme at the 3rd International Student Summit, held at Universiti Putra Malaysia, Selangor, Malaysia, on Saturday, September 12, 2026.

The achievement reflects the active participation of FISIP UNNES students in international academic competitions and demonstrates their ability to develop ideas related to tourism and culture. Through the competition, Arsyad represented FISIP UNNES and competed alongside students from diverse academic backgrounds in an international forum.

In preparing for and participating in the competition, Arsyad received guidance from Rizka Cahyaning Arifin Putri, S.Pd., M.Pd., who served as his academic supervisor. The guidance played an important role in helping him prepare his ideas and meet the academic demands of an international-level competition.

Arsyad’s achievement also demonstrates that students in History Education are not only expected to master historical and cultural knowledge, but are also given opportunities to develop their academic abilities, creativity, and broader perspectives on various social and cultural issues.

Participation in the 3rd International Student Summit also provided Arsyad with valuable academic experience by allowing him to engage in an international educational environment. International forums such as this offer students opportunities to broaden their horizons, build academic networks, and develop confidence in presenting their ideas on a global stage.

The achievement is in line with FISIP UNNES’s efforts to encourage students to actively participate in academic activities at both national and international levels. Student participation in international competitions is also part of the faculty’s efforts to strengthen the capacity of young people to contribute to the development of knowledge, culture, and society.

This achievement also contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, through the development of students’ competencies and international academic experience. The recognition in the field of Tourism and Culture is also relevant to SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, particularly through strengthening attention to culture and cultural heritage as important components of sustainable community development.

Arsyad Fillah Ramadhan’s Bronze Medal at the international competition adds to FISIP UNNES’s record of achievements while demonstrating that its students have opportunities to bring the university’s name to the global academic arena through competition, creativity, and strong academic knowledge.
