Semarang, 22 July 2026 – The Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), once again demonstrated its commitment to improving the welfare of the university community by providing Educational Assistance to the children of cleaning service staff and administrative personnel. The assistance was presented directly by the Chair of DWP FISIP UNNES, Mrs. Nur Sahidah Wahyuni Arif Purnomo. The event was held on Wednesday (22 July) at 10:00 a.m. WIB on the first floor of the AT Soegito Building, FISIP UNNES, reflecting the organization’s dedication to supporting the educational continuity of the children of the faculty’s supporting staff.

On this occasion, DWP FISIP UNNES distributed educational assistance totaling IDR 7,080,000 to 22 children from the families of cleaning service staff and administrative personnel. The financial support is expected to help meet various educational needs, including the purchase of school supplies and other education-related expenses.

The educational assistance program forms part of FISIP UNNES’s broader efforts to foster a culture of compassion, solidarity, and mutual support within the academic community. Beyond its commitment to academic excellence, the faculty continues to promote an inclusive and humane working environment that values the contributions of all members of the university community, including administrative personnel and support staff.

The handover ceremony was marked by a heartfelt atmosphere. A representative of the beneficiaries expressed deep gratitude and appreciation for the attention and care shown by the Dharma Wanita Persatuan of FISIP UNNES.

“Alhamdulillah, we would like to express our sincere gratitude for the Educational Assistance provided by the Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of FISIP UNNES. God willing, we will use this assistance as wisely as possible to support our children’s education. We are truly touched by the kindness and concern shown by the members of Dharma Wanita. May Allah bless all of you abundantly,” the recipient said.

Through this initiative, DWP FISIP UNNES hopes that the assistance will not only ease the financial burden on beneficiary families but also encourage their children to remain motivated in pursuing their education and achieving their aspirations. Investing in education is regarded as a long-term commitment to developing a generation that is knowledgeable, resilient, and globally competitive.

The program also reflects the strong spirit of togetherness cultivated within FISIP UNNES, where every member of the academic community plays an important role in advancing the institution. Through initiatives such as this, the values of empathy, mutual cooperation, and social responsibility continue to be strengthened as integral components of the faculty’s organizational culture.

The Educational Assistance Program initiated by the Dharma Wanita Persatuan of FISIP UNNES is closely aligned with Universitas Negeri Semarang’s commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The initiative contributes directly to SDG 4 (Quality Education) by expanding educational opportunities for the children of administrative personnel and cleaning service staff, enabling them to access quality education. It also supports SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) by helping reduce disparities in educational access among economically vulnerable groups, while reinforcing SDG 1 (No Poverty) by alleviating part of the financial burden borne by beneficiary families. Through its spirit of compassion and social solidarity, DWP FISIP UNNES demonstrates that higher education institutions play a vital role not only in advancing knowledge but also in promoting inclusive and sustainable development that creates meaningful social impact.
