Pontianak, June 6, 2026 – A Biology Professor from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), Prof. Dr. Amin Retnoningsih, M.Si., attended a tree planting activity held at the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Tanjungpura (Untan), Pontianak, West Kalimantan, on Saturday, June 6, 2026.
The activity was organized as part of the 63rd Anniversary Celebration of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Tanjungpura, and in commemoration of World Environment Day. The event was attended by the Governor of West Kalimantan and regional government officials, representatives of relevant government agencies, university leaders, and the management of the Faculty of Agriculture of Untan.
Prof. Amin Retnoningsih’s participation in the event was part of an official invitation from the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Tanjungpura. In addition to attending the tree planting activity, Prof. Amin was also scheduled to serve as a keynote speaker at a National Seminar on Sunday, June 7, 2026. The seminar carried the theme, “Innovative Strategies for National Food Security and Enhancing the Global Competitiveness of West Kalimantan Durian.”
The tree planting activity served as a symbol of collective commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable agricultural development. Through this initiative, stakeholders demonstrated their concern for preserving natural resources while strengthening collaboration among higher education institutions, local governments, and the wider community.
FMIPA UNNES’s participation in the event reflects the university’s commitment to advancing scientific development, biodiversity conservation, food security, and the promotion of regional flagship commodities with strategic potential at both national and global levels.
Through this forum, FMIPA UNNES hopes to further strengthen collaboration among Universitas Negeri Semarang, Universitas Tanjungpura, local governments, and other stakeholders, particularly in the fields of research, environmental conservation, agricultural innovation, and the development of Indonesia’s superior agricultural commodities. Such sustainable partnerships are expected to contribute significantly to sustainable development and community welfare.
