Pekalongan – A team of lecturers from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Semarang State University (UNNES), collaborated with the Tlogopakis Village Government in a community service program entitled “Strengthening Economic Independence through Tourism Governance.” The activity was held on Monday, May 25, 2026, at the Curug Bajing Hall in Tlogopakis Village, Pekalongan Regency.
The event was attended by the Village Head of Tlogopakis, the Village Secretary, village officials, community leaders, representatives of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), arts and cultural activists, and members of the Youth Organization (Karang Taruna). The participation of these diverse stakeholders reflected a shared commitment to promoting the village’s tourism potential as a sustainable driver of community welfare.
The Head of the FISIP UNNES Community Service Team, Bambang Hermanto, S.Pd., M.IP., explained that the program aimed to strengthen the capacity of both the local community and the village government in collaboratively managing tourism resources so that they could serve as catalysts for regional economic development.
“We would like to express our gratitude for the collaboration with the Tlogopakis Village Government. As lecturers, we have a responsibility to provide knowledge that brings tangible benefits to society. Through strengthening tourism governance, we hope that the village’s potential can be further developed and that the welfare of the community can be improved,” he said.
Also serving as members of the community service team were Stanley Khu, S.Ant., M.A., and Evany Sofia Prameswari, S.IP., M.A. Both delivered presentations and shared insights from various perspectives, enriching participants’ understanding of tourism governance, community empowerment, and local economic development.
The Village Head of Tlogopakis warmly welcomed the initiative. He expressed his appreciation for the synergy between the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Semarang State University (UNNES) and the village government, and hoped that the knowledge and assistance provided would generate tangible benefits for the local community.
“We would like to thank the FISIP UNNES team for their attention and contribution to Tlogopakis Village. We hope that the materials and guidance provided will equip the community with the knowledge and skills needed to develop tourism potential and strengthen the village economy,” he stated.
The program was carried out successfully and received a positive response from participants. Their enthusiasm was evident through active participation during discussion sessions and the various suggestions and ideas shared regarding tourism development and local economic empowerment.
The community service activity was also supported by students from the Political Science Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Semarang State University (UNNES), who assisted in the preparation and implementation of the event, ensuring that all activities proceeded smoothly.
Through this collaboration between the university and the village government, FISIP UNNES hopes that the development of tourism governance in Tlogopakis Village will lay a strong foundation for community economic independence and further strengthen the village’s identity as a competitive and sustainable tourist destination.
