Semarang — Support for the continued education of students from economically disadvantaged families was once again demonstrated through the 2025 Scholarship Program for Students from Poor Families by the Bojonegoro Regency Government. The scholarship was awarded to RE Tegar Samudra, an undergraduate student in the Geography Study Program at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES).

The scholarship was presented on December 2, 2025, at the Dean’s Office of FISIP UNNES. It was formally handed over by Dean of FISIP UNNES, Prof. Dr. Arif Purnomo, S.Pd., S.S., M.Pd., together with Vice Dean I for Academic and Student Affairs, Dr. scient.med. Fadly Husain, S.Sos., M.Si.

As a scholarship recipient, RE Tegar Samudra received educational assistance amounting to IDR 3,932,584.27. The financial support is expected to help meet the student’s educational needs, enabling the learning process to continue more effectively.

The scholarship program for students from low-income families represents the local government’s commitment to helping students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds maintain access to higher education. Educational assistance is particularly important in supporting students’ academic continuity and ensuring that financial difficulties do not become barriers to completing their studies.

For higher education institutions, support through scholarship programs also strengthens efforts to create a more inclusive educational ecosystem. Students who receive assistance can focus more effectively on their academic activities and develop their competencies throughout their studies at FISIP UNNES.

The scholarship award also demonstrates the importance of synergy between local governments and universities in expanding access to higher education. Through such collaboration, educational assistance can help ensure that students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds have equal opportunities to obtain higher education and prepare themselves for their future professional and social roles.

This initiative is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, through support for access to and the continuity of higher education, as well as SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, by addressing economic barriers that may limit students’ opportunities to pursue education.

The 2025 Scholarship Program for Students from Poor Families by the Bojonegoro Regency Government is therefore a tangible example that support for education is not solely focused on academic achievement, but also on ensuring that every student has an opportunity to complete their education and build a better future.
