Another proud achievement has been made by students of Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES). Three students — Moh. Rayya Ilham Rehardiyan and Azqi Muhammad Agustian from the Geography Study Program, along with Aulia Hilma Yuanika from the Biology Education Study Program — successfully won 2nd Place in the National Scientific Writing Competition (LKTIN) Geodetic Expo 2025, organized by the Geodetic Engineering Student Association of Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) on November 2, 2025.
Under the guidance of Enda Kalyana Putri, S.T., M.T., the UNNES team developed a scientific work focusing on geospatial and biological innovations in addressing environmental change and promoting sustainable development. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, they highlighted the importance of utilizing spatial data for environmentally friendly regional planning, climate change adaptation, and community welfare improvement.
This achievement serves as concrete proof of UNNES students’ competence and creativity in presenting innovative ideas at the national level. The Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Political Science (FISIP) UNNES, Prof. Dr. Arif Purnomo, S.Pd., S.S., M.Pd., expressed his appreciation for the students’ success. “This accomplishment shows that UNNES students are not only academically excellent but also capable of providing innovative solutions to environmental challenges. This is the true embodiment of the university’s conservation spirit,” he stated.
Beyond academic recognition, this success aligns with UNNES’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 15 (Life on Land). Through research that integrates geography and biology, the team contributes to strengthening environmental literacy and developing innovative solutions for the sustainable management of natural resources in Indonesia.
With a spirit of collaboration and innovation, UNNES students continue to demonstrate their role as globally competitive young leaders committed to environmental care and the realization of a sustainable future.
