The Community Service Team of the Faculty of Law at Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding integrity and clean governance at the grassroots level on September 16, 2026. Through a dedicated program titled “Power Tends to Corrupt Building Anti-Corruption Character,” the academic team introduced an inclusive, digital-based educational model in Ketapang Village, Semarang Regency. This innovative initiative aims to strengthen Ketapang Village as a model “Anti-Corruption Village” focused on transparency and accountability. Moving away from conventional one-way lectures, the team utilized interactive digital tools to ensure legal literacy and anti-corruption materials are easily understood by all community members.
The campaign primarily focuses on instilling integrity through the “Know the 9 Anti-Corruption Values” initiative, which encompasses honesty, care, independence, discipline, responsibility, hard work, simplicity, courage, and justice. A representative of the FH UNNES team highlighted the significance of active community engagement from the ground up. “We aim to shift legal education toward a more inclusive approach that connects directly with residents’ daily lives. By utilizing digital media, these nine values of integrity can be effectively internalized by both village officials and the general public,” the representative stated during the event. This collective movement encourages local residents to recognize and prevent corruption risks early on.
Strengthening this digital-based Anti-Corruption Village strongly aligns with three key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). First, it directly contributes to Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions (SDG 16) by fostering transparency and corruption prevention within local governance. Second, the program supports Quality Education (SDG 4) by providing inclusive, technology-driven legal literacy for all community members. Finally, the initiative reinforces Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11) by building a solid foundation of integrity and sustainable local community governance for long-term social welfare.
