A total of 13 leaders of student organizations and semi-autonomous bodies at FISIP for the 2026 term were officially inaugurated. The ceremony was held at the FISIP C8 Hall, Sekaran, Gunungpati, Semarang, on Monday (February 2, 2026).

During the inauguration, the students appointed as chairpersons and board members signed an integrity pact. The pact contains commitments to carry out organizational duties earnestly, to mobilize all potential in achieving the organization’s vision and mission, and to reject as well as prevent drug abuse.

Student organizations at FISIP are expected to serve as platforms for improving student achievement and strengthening character development. The newly inaugurated leaders were urged to dedicate themselves to the faculty by upholding honesty and responsibility in carrying out their duties.

Dean of FISIP, Prof. Arif Purnomo, emphasized the strategic role of student organizations in preventing what he described as the three major vices in education.

“Student organizations at FISIP are expected to play a role in preventing intolerance, sexual violence, and bullying. Being free from these three issues will allow you to set an example for others. Members of the academic community must be protected from intolerance and violence,” he said.

He also reminded all board members to implement the programs that have been agreed upon. “Congratulations to all of you. Carry out all the programs that have been decided,” he added.

Chair of the History Student Association, Muhammad Fatoni Hasan, said his organization has prepared several programs, including workshops to enhance students’ skills through essay-writing training, as well as regular online and offline discussion forums.

“In this year’s Heroes’ Month, we will also organize a ‘History Village’ program,” said the History student.

Meanwhile, Chair of the FISIP Student Executive Board (BEM), Anwar Maulana, stated that BEM will hold a work meeting and organize faculty-level arts and sports activities. In addition, BEM plans to strengthen students’ capacities in research and training.

Anwar also explained that BEM will launch the Canggih Institute program, which offers photography and journalism skills training for 10 underprivileged students. The training is scheduled to begin in April or May.
