On Monday, May 22, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Political Science (FISIP) at Semarang State University (UNNES) held a ceremony to commemorate the 115th Anniversary of National Awakening Day. The ceremony, which took place at the FISIP UNNES Field, was a significant moment to reflect on the nation’s historical struggle and unite in facing future challenges.

The ceremony was attended by all UNNES leadership, faculty members, administrative staff, and students from FISIP, the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), and the Faculty of Law (FH). The ceremony was presided over by Prof. Dr. Nur Qudus, M.T., IPM, Vice Rector IV for Cooperation, Business, and International Relations, who passionately reminded the attendees of the significance of the National Awakening Day commemoration.

Prof. Nur Qudus expressed, “The high level of trust from the world in Indonesia is a momentum to implement the spirit of national awakening as we welcome the post-pandemic COVID-19 era and the journey towards Indonesia Emas 2045.” He quoted the words of Dr. Soetomo, one of the national heroes, stating, “Generations willing to strive for the self-reliance of their nation are the ones who love their future generations and love their homeland.”

The commemoration of the 115th National Awakening Day is not just a historical celebration but also a call for the current generation to uphold the spirit of awakening and actively contribute to the nation’s progress. The post-COVID-19 era demands hard work, unity, and dedication as we embark on the path toward Indonesia Emas 2045.

Activities like this serve as a reminder of the essential role each of us plays in safeguarding and advancing our nation. FISIP UNNES is committed to providing a positive contribution to building a better future for our country.
