Semarang, July 17, 2026 – The Smart Classroom in Building D4 of FMIPA UNNES became a collaboration space for the Central Java Chemistry MGMP (Subject Teacher Deliberation Forum) in an activity to strengthen teachers’ competencies to design innovative chemistry learning. The activity featured Prof. Dr. Sri Haryani, M.Si., Prof. Dr. Sri Wardani, M.Si., Dr. Agung Tri Prasetya, M.Si., and Drs. Kasmui, M.Si. as speakers. Participants received reinforcement regarding the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) integrated with Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), as well as Socio-Scientific Issues (SSI) as an in-depth, contextual learning approach oriented toward solving real-world problems. This activity was supported by the Leading University Project for International Cooperation (LUPIC) through the Government of the Republic of Korea.

In addition to the development of learning designs, participants were also introduced to the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for developing teaching materials and 3D printing as a visualization medium for chemistry concepts. Teachers were encouraged to use technology critically, ethically, and responsibly, while maintaining the teacher’s position as the primary designer of learning. The workshop was conducted collaboratively through activities of designing, testing, revising, and sharing learning experiences that can be adapted to the conditions of their respective schools.

The activity concluded with the signing of an Implementation Agreement (IA) between FMIPA UNNES and the Central Java Chemistry MGMP as a form of commitment to continuing cooperation in teachers’ professional development, exchange of teaching materials, mentoring, advanced training, and the dissemination of good practices. This collaboration is expected to strengthen chemistry learning that develops conceptual understanding, creativity, technological literacy, sustainability awareness, collaboration skills, and responsible decision-making.
