Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) utilized the momentum of UNNES Fair 2026 as an inclusive educational platform for new students to build character and explore their talents. Held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, in front of the Dumafi FIK UNNES field in Semarang City, the event featured 72 Student Activity Units (UKM) across 40 exhibition booths. Beyond introducing student organizations, the event served as a massive campaign advocating against drugs, corruption, and violence. Vice Rector I of UNNES, Prof. Dr. Zaenuri, M.Si., Akt., emphasized the university’s commitment to nurturing students with outstanding personal qualities. “UNNES always encourages students not only to excel academically but also to possess strong character. One way to achieve this is through active participation in UKMs that align with their talents and interests,” he explained.

Initiated by DUSDM and expanded through cross-unit collaboration across UNNES, this social movement employed a proactive outreach strategy directly within student crowds. Visitors were encouraged to interact actively and spread educational content across social media channels to maximize the campaign’s reach. Head of the UNNES Asset Section, Agung Wiyanto, S.Pd., highlighted that this collaborative effort stemmed from a shared awareness of campus integrity. “This movement cannot be carried out by a single unit alone. After evaluation, we found that several units within UNNES shared the same focus—anti-drugs, anti-corruption, and anti-violence. Thus, we believed these efforts needed to be combined,” he stated. He further added that engaging students directly ensures a deeper impact. “Now we are approaching the crowd directly and immersing ourselves in their world. We hope this movement becomes more widespread, creating many more agents advocating against drugs, corruption, and violence,” Agung added.

In addition to social and integrity issues, the event integrated environmental awareness by distributing reusable shopping bags as an alternative to single-use plastics. This comprehensive initiative directly supports three key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). First, it reinforces Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions (SDG 16) through active campaigns against violence, corruption, and drug abuse within the academic community. Second, it advances Quality Education (SDG 4) by providing holistic learning spaces that foster leadership, talents, and extracurricular skills. Finally, the distribution of eco-friendly bags contributes to Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12) by encouraging sustainable consumption habits aligned with UNNES’s conservation values.
