Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) welcomed a working visit from the Chief of UI GreenMetric, Dr. Vishnu Juwono, S.E., MIA., on Monday, August 10, 2026. The visit served as a strategic opportunity to strengthen sustainable campus implementation and enhance UNNES’s contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The UI GreenMetric delegation was welcomed by the Rector of UNNES along with university leaders, including Vice Rectors, the Head of the International Affairs Office and SDGs Center, and the Head of the UNNES Subdirectorate of Conservation. The meeting provided a forum for discussing policies, programs, and innovations that support campus sustainability.

During the discussion session, participants explored various strategic issues, including green campus implementation, environmental management, conservation programs, and the optimization of higher education contributions toward SDG targets. The meeting also facilitated the exchange of experiences and best practices in sustainable university governance.

Following the discussion, the delegation conducted a field visit to observe several sustainability facilities on campus. The visit included the Integrated Waste Processing Facility (TPST) and UNNES Ecofarm, which serve as centers for conservation education, environmental management, and food security innovation.

Dr. Vishnu Juwono, S.E., MIA., praised the sustainability initiatives implemented by UNNES. “UNNES demonstrates a strong commitment to integrating sustainability principles into campus governance. Programs such as integrated waste management and Ecofarm development are clear examples of how universities can create positive impacts for both the environment and society,” he stated.

Meanwhile, the Head of the UNNES Subdirectorate of Conservation, Prof. Dr. Nana Kariada Tri Martuti, M.Si., emphasized that the visit provided valuable input for further strengthening campus conservation programs. “The presence of UI GreenMetric motivates UNNES to continue developing innovation and strengthening its conservation culture. We are committed to making sustainability an integral part of education, research, community service, and university governance,” she explained.

Through this activity, UNNES aims to further improve environmental management quality while expanding collaboration with various stakeholders in supporting sustainable development. The visit also demonstrates that sustainability requires strong synergy between universities, communities, and strategic partners.

This activity supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
