A total of 843 students from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) have officially joined the Impactful Internship Program. The participants come from all undergraduate study programs within FISIP.
The official internship deployment was led by Prof. Arif Purnomo, Dean of FISIP UNNES, at the Smart Class on the fifth floor of Building C8, Sekaran Campus, Gunungpati, Semarang, on Monday (February 9, 2026). Meanwhile, other partner institutions and students attended the event online.

“Students participate in internships for at least four to six months,” Kuncoro said.
A total of 349 partner institutions are involved in the program. These partners are spread across several regions, including Java, Kalimantan, Sumatra, as well as overseas, notably Manila, the Philippines.
Several partner institutions shared their experiences in hosting FISIP students. Meanwhile, Bintang Prasojo from the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) of Yogyakarta Special Region noted that Geography students demonstrated satisfactory performance, with internship activities directly linked to course credit conversion.
In Bandung, West Java, Wawan Susanto from the Indonesian Army Historical Service accepted two History students. They were placed in the library and archival units, with flexible and contextual assignments tailored to the institution’s needs.

In his remarks, Arif Purnomo expressed appreciation to all partner institutions for their willingness to accept and mentor FISIP students. He emphasized that the internship program not only builds students’ knowledge, but also strengthens their character and professional skills.
“Through this internship, students gain different forms of knowledge. It helps shape competent individuals with strong practical skills, creating synergy between theory and practice. The link and match with the professional world can be effectively realized,” he said.
He also encouraged students to make the most of their internship period and contribute ideas and innovations that can be implemented in their respective internship placements.
