After a semester break that began in late December 2025, students of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) are set to return to campus. All FISIP students from various study programs will attend the first lecture of the even semester on Monday, February 9, 2026.
Dean of FISIP, Prof. Arif Purnomo, encouraged students to carry out their academic activities with full commitment and to achieve better results than in the previous semester.
“Let us carry out the lectures as well as possible. Hopefully, students will achieve better outcomes compared to last semester,” Prof. Arif said.
As the new semester begins, several students have shared their academic plans and expectations. Pamilian Nuril Hidayah, a second-semester student from the Communication Studies program, said she aims to focus more on her academic performance over the next six months.
“I want to maintain my grades while continuing to develop my potential. I also hope to stay consistent with the good habits I’ve built and take advantage of every opportunity available,” she said.
Meanwhile, Reina Dwi Budiman, a fourth-semester student in Communication Studies, is targeting an improvement in her grade point average while preparing herself for upcoming academic milestones.
“I hope my GPA will improve. I want to stay focused on my targets and prepare mentally for what’s ahead, especially for proposal seminars and internship programs,” she said.
Graduate student Dhoni Frizky, currently in his second semester of the Master’s Program in Social Studies Education, is beginning to concentrate on the final stage of his studies.
“In this second semester, I will start drafting my thesis proposal, with the goal of completing my studies in the third semester,” he said.
With the start of the even semester, FISIP students are expected to quickly readjust to academic routines and work toward achieving their study targets.
