The History Study Program of the Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Indonesia (FIB UI), conducted a Student Fieldwork Program (Kuliah Kerja Mahasiswa/KKM) from 20–23 January 2026 in the city of Semarang under the theme “Exploring Semarang: Historical Spaces along the Northern Coast of Java.” The program involved 66 students, accompanied by 13 lecturers, as part of the implementation of field-based learning.
As part of the program, on Wednesday, 21 January 2026, a delegation of students and lecturers from the History Study Program of FIB UI carried out an academic visit to the History Study Program of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Negeri Semarang (FISIP UNNES). The activity took place at Building C7, 3rd Floor, FISIP UNNES, and commenced at 08:30 a.m. (WIB).
The event was officially opened with welcoming remarks from the Vice Dean III of FISIP UNNES, Dr. Puji Lestari, M.Si., who expressed her appreciation for the academic visit. This was followed by an introduction to the program delivered by Dr. Abdurakhman, M.Hum., representing the lecturers of the History Study Program of FIB UI.
The agenda continued with a public lecture delivered by Dr. Ufi Sarawasti, M.Hum., focusing on the historical area of Old Semarang, and moderated by Dr. Nina Witasari, M.Hum. The session concluded with a discussion and question-and-answer segment involving students from the History Study Program of FIB UI.
Subsequently, participants viewed a documentary film entitled “Napak,” produced by students of the History Study Program of FISIP UNNES, followed by a discussion session. The program then proceeded with internal discussions among students and lecturers from the History Study Programs of UI and UNNES, as well as an inter-lecturer discussion moderated by Dr. Muzakki Bashori, M.A., with Teuku Reza, Ph.D., serving as the discussant. This session addressed the theme of research-based history teaching.
Through the implementation of the Student Fieldwork Program and the academic visit, the History Study Program of FIB UI aims to strengthen the integration of theoretical learning and field practice, while also enhancing academic collaboration with the History Study Program of FISIP UNNES in the development of education and research in the field of History. This initiative aligns with the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 on Quality Education and Goal 17 on Partnerships for the Goals.
