Another proud achievement has been recorded by a student from Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES). Shinta Al Maydea (2303040138), a student of the Geography Study Program, FISIP UNNES, earned an outstanding accomplishment at the arts and talent event themed “MAPS REIMAGINED: Data Visualization, Earth Narratives”, organized by the Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Geography, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta, on 25 October 2025.

In this event, which highlights creative cartography, Shinta showcased exceptional skills in presenting maps not only as visual works but also as scientific narratives about the condition of the Earth. Her work stood out for both its aesthetic quality and its strong spatial analysis and data interpretation. She received academic guidance from Lina Adi Wijayanti, S.Si., M.Sc., who supported the development of the concept and ensured the accuracy of the mapping.

This achievement is not only a source of pride for FISIP UNNES but also demonstrates the real contribution of geography students in supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and SDG 13 (Climate Action). Through creative mapping, students play an important role in raising public awareness about environmental conditions, spatial planning, and the urgency of sustainable land-use management.

UNNES expresses high appreciation for Shinta’s accomplishment and hopes that this achievement will inspire other students to continue producing impactful work, innovating, and contributing to sustainable development through knowledge and creativity.
