Heavy rain did not dampen the enthusiasm of the members of the Dharma Wanita Sub-Unit of FISIP UNNES as they took part in a capacity building activity themed “Caring for Mothers’ Mental Health.” The event took place at the Kemuning tourism area, Karanganyar, Solo, on Saturday (November 1, 2025).
A total of 40 participants, consisting of wives of lecturers and administrative staff of FISIP UNNES, joined the event. The agenda included various physical activities such as agility games, concentration exercises, and group activities designed to strengthen teamwork and togetherness.
The activity was designed to enhance the personal well-being of the participants so that they can better support their husbands’ professional responsibilities while maintaining family welfare. Despite the heavy rain, the atmosphere remained warm and joyful.
Ufi Saraswati, a History lecturer who attended the event, shared that the sense of camaraderie and laughter never faded. “We got caught in the rain, but it turned into a funny memory. Between activities, we even had time to shop around the area—there were lots of avocado and mango sellers with very affordable prices. It’s true what they say, behind every successful husband is a wife who loves to go on trips,” she said with a laugh.
Meanwhile, Festi Zulfaturrohmah, Head of Academic and Student Affairs Administration at FISIP UNNES, emphasized the great benefits of the event for mental health and personal happiness. “After participating in this capacity building, I feel truly happy. It’s refreshing to take a short break from routine—my body feels lighter, and my mind clearer. We return home with renewed spirit to continue supporting our husbands and children,” she said.
This activity aligns with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) No. 3: Good Health and Well-Being and SDGs No. 5: Gender Equality. Through this program, Dharma Wanita FISIP UNNES seeks to strengthen awareness about the importance of women’s mental health, particularly for wives and mothers who often juggle multiple roles in family and community life. Supporting women’s mental health is a crucial foundation for achieving sustainable family and community welfare.
More than just a recreational event, this capacity building served as a platform for women’s empowerment—providing space to share experiences, foster solidarity, and cultivate empathy among participants. With a spirit of togetherness, Dharma Wanita FISIP UNNES reaffirms its commitment to creating an inclusive, healthy, and gender-equitable social environment.
