A total of 46 alumni from various study programs of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), gathered in the Back to Campus event held at the 3rd Floor Hall of FISIP, Sekaran, Gunungpati, Semarang, on October 30, 2025.
The event served as a reunion and reflection moment for the alumni to reminisce about their years of study at FISIP UNNES. Since its establishment in 1965, FISIP has produced many graduates who have contributed to both government and private institutions.
The Dean of FISIP UNNES, Prof. Arif Purnomo, expressed his appreciation for the alumni’s enthusiasm and encouraged them to continue collaborating with the faculty.“Let us work together to advance our faculty. Moving forward together, even gradually, will lead to better progress,” said Arif.
He emphasized that alumni support is essential for the faculty’s development, particularly in improving study program accreditation. One of the key indicators in the accreditation assessment is alumni satisfaction toward their alma mater.
In addition, Arif opened opportunities for alumni collaboration in research and community engagement, which he said would enhance FISIP’s academic reputation at both the national and international levels.
One of the alumni, Dani Miftah from the Geography Study Program, class of 2001, proposed that research findings by lecturers and students be regularly shared with alumni.“Such information could be disseminated through Telegram or WhatsApp groups so that all alumni can stay involved,” he said.
Another alumnus, Kusno from the History Education Program, suggested forming an alumni association across study programs. The association is expected to manage and distribute scholarships for active FISIP students.“Scholarships are crucial for supporting students’ futures. We’ve all gone through tough times together, so let’s give back by helping them,” he said.
The alumni gathering was part of the Semarak FISIP 2025 series of events, which throughout October featured various academic and entrepreneurship activities, including the Symposium on Water Sustainability and the FISIP Entrepreneurship Expo.
