The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) has strengthened its synergy with 11 former Teacher Training and Education (LPTK) State Universities through a strategic collaboration agreement in response to the demands of the global era. The agreement was reached during a meeting held from October 24–26, 2025, in Surabaya, East Java.
The meeting produced a joint commitment to collaborate in the fields of research, inbound and outbound academic programs, visiting lectures, and scientific publications. All programs are planned to be implemented starting in 2026.
Dean of FISIP UNNES, Prof. Arif Purnomo, stated that this collaboration is an important step in expanding academic networks and enriching the development of social sciences. “We hope this initiative will pave the way for greater excellence of FISIP in advancing social sciences,” said Prof. Arif.
The agreement was attended by deans, vice deans for academics and cooperation, as well as coordinators of history education study programs from each participating university. This inter-campus collaboration is expected to strengthen institutional capacity in facing global challenges and academic competition.
In addition to FISIP UNNES, the participating universities include the Faculty of Social Sciences (FIS) Universitas Negeri Medan (UNIMED), FIS Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP), Faculty of Social Education (FPIPS) Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FISH) Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ), FISIP Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIPOL) Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA), FISH Universitas Negeri Makassar (UNM), FIS Universitas Negeri Malang (UM), FIS Universitas Negeri Gorontalo (UNG), Faculty of Law and Social Sciences (FHIS) Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (UNDHIKSA), and FIS Universitas Negeri Manado (UNIMA).
Through this synergy, FISIP UNNES and the 11 partner universities are committed to building a collaborative and competitive academic ecosystem aligned with the spirit of transformation in Indonesia’s higher education landscape.
