FISIP equipped 167 graduates with essential job-hunting skills for the digital era through a workshop titled Smart Career with AI: Strategies for Job Seeking in the Modern World, held on Friday (October 17, 2025) at the C7 Building, 3rd Floor Auditorium, FISIP UNNES.
The event featured Naya Prastatama, Senior Product Manager at Huawei Technologies, who shared insights on how artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming recruitment and career development processes.

“Recruiters no longer rely solely on human judgment. They use AI analytics to make faster, fairer, and smarter hiring decisions,” Naya explained. She emphasized the importance of understanding AI driven systems such as Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), which scan résumés for role-specific keywords. “Job seekers must learn to write AI readable résumés, optimize LinkedIn profiles, and present measurable achievements,” she said.

As an example, Naya noted that applicants for digital marketing roles should include terms like SEO, analytics, and campaign management to ensure their applications are detected by AI systems.

In her motivational session, Naya also discussed personal branding in the AI era, urging students to recognize their strengths and self worth. “The more comfortable we are with ourselves, the more confident we become. Remember, job applications are a two-way process companies and applicants both need each other,” she remarked.

Naya further encouraged participants to keep upskilling and utilize AI tools for personal development, mentioning platforms such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Elicit, and Rezi as useful aids for résumé writing and professional growth.

Fauzi Raihan, a Geography Education student, said he gained valuable insights from the session. “Understanding how AI filters résumés is crucial. Tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity can really help us craft AI friendly résumés,” he shared.

Through this initiative, FISIP UNNES reaffirms its commitment to preparing graduates who are adaptable to digital transformation while supporting Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth.
