Semarang, October 9, 2025 — The Faculty of Social Sciences and Political Science (FISIP) at Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) held a Training on the Use of the Collaborative Smart Classroom, attended by representatives of lecturers from each study program within the faculty. The event took place on Thursday (9/10) at 9:00 a.m. in the FISIP UNNES Collaborative Smart Classroom.
The training aimed to improve lecturers’ competence in utilizing interactive and collaborative digital learning technologies. The Collaborative Smart Classroom is designed to support hybrid learning systems, detect students’ expressions and emotions, automate attendance, and facilitate real-time material sharing. With this technology, the learning process is expected to become more effective, inclusive, and engaging.
Serving as mentors in the training were Dr. Gunawan, M.Hum. (Lecturer of Sociology and Anthropology Education), Dimas Anggoro, S.Pd., M.Pd. (Lecturer of History Education), and Fredy Hermanto, S.Pd., M.Pd. They provided technical guidance and hands-on practice to participants, emphasizing the importance of lecturers’ adaptability to technological advancements in order to create dynamic and participatory classroom environments.
During the session, lecturers explored various key features of the Collaborative Smart Classroom, such as integrated online-offline learning setups, student activity analysis systems, and integration with UNNES’s e-learning platform. The training is expected to strengthen lecturers’ capacity to develop technology-based learning innovations while enhancing the student learning experience.
This initiative aligns with UNNES’s commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure). Through the implementation of smart learning technology, FISIP UNNES strives to deliver high-quality, digitally relevant, and innovation-oriented education. As a conservation university, UNNES continues to reaffirm its role as a pioneer in adaptive higher education with global competitiveness and meaningful social impact.
