Di tengah riuhnya isu intoleransi, lulusan S3 Pendidikan IPS FISIP UNNES Argitha Aricindy menawarkan perspektif segar. Dalam disertasi bertema Pendidikan Perdamaian di Sekolah Multikultural Medan dan Semarang, ia membelokkan arah pandang dari zona konflik menuju wilayah yang relatif tenang namun berlapis perbedaan.

Penelitiannya berfokus pada dua sekolah pembauran: SMP Sultan Iskandar Muda di Medan Sumatera Utara dan SMP Karangturi di Semarang, Jawa Tengah. “Sekolah ini secara sadar dirancang menjadi ruang perjumpaan intensif antar siswa dari latar etnis, budaya, dan agama yang berbeda,” ujar perempuan kelahiran Serdang Bedagai Sumatera Utara, 27 tahun lalu ini.

Komposisi pada kedua sekolah itu mencerminkan keragaman Indonesia dalam skala mini. Di Medan, dari 102 siswa kelas VIII yang diteliti, ada 38 Muslim, 28 Kristen, 22 Buddha, dan 14 Hindu. Sementara di Semarang, dari sekitar 100 siswa, 48 beragama Buddha, 30 Kristen, 18 Muslim, dan 4 Konghucu. Angka-angka itu bukan sekadar statistik: di dalamnya berdenyut potensi gesekan, sekaligus peluang integrasi.

Untuk menjawab tantangan itu, Argitha mengusung Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT). Pendekatan ini menekankan pengakuan identitas kultural peserta didik dan mengintegrasikannya ke dalam pembelajaran. Di kelas, guru tak hanya membedah teks atau fakta sejarah, melainkan menghidupkan diskusi lintas perspektif, mengajak refleksi atas peristiwa lokal, hingga membentuk kelompok kolaboratif lintas agama.

Hasilnya, kelas berubah menjadi arena dialog. Pelajaran konflik meluas menjadi latihan empati, pengenalan sudut pandang lain, dan pembentukan kesadaran kolektif. “Pendidikan perdamaian tak hanya dibutuhkan di wilayah konflik,”ucap Argitha.

Bagi Argitha, benih masyarakat inklusif justru ditanam dari ruang-ruang kelas seperti ini tempat peserta didik belajar merayakan perbedaan sejak dini.sekolah yang terlihat harmonis pun menyimpan potensi konflik laten jika tak dibentengi empati dan keterbukaan.” kata perempuan peraih Beasiswa PMDSU ini.

Dari hasil penelitian tersebut, Dekan FISIP UNNES Prof. Arif Purnomo menyatakan Argitha lulus dalam studi S3 Pendidikan IPS.” IPK Argitha 4,00 dengan predikat cum laude,” terang Arif, pertengahan Juli lalu dalam sidang tertutup, di Aula C7, FISIP UNNES, Sekaran, Semarang, Jawa Tengah.

Argitha menjalani kuliah program doktor selama dua tahun sepuluh bulan. Pada saat studi Ia juga berkesempatan mengikuti joint research selama 6 bulan di University of Groningen, Belanda.

Di bawah bimbingan Prof. dr Clemens Six, seorang akademisi dalam studi sejarah kolonial dan global. Di sana, ia meneliti topik yang begitu relevan dan kaya makna: “Pendidikan Indonesia–Belanda: Lintasan Diaspora dari Warisan Kolonial ke Kosmopolitanisme Global.” Riset ini membawanya menyusuri jejak-jejak kolonialisme, diaspora, dan hubungan historis yang masih terpatri dalam ruang-ruang kota Belanda.
