Mulai menipisnya anak-anak muda yang tertarik dengan budaya akarnya akan membuat budaya di tempat aslinya hilang. Mereka dihadapkan dengan pilihan melanjutkan kebudayaan yang sudah ada atau memilih budaya budaya baru yang masuk dari luar negeri.

Manggar Sari Ayuati Kepala Balai Pelestarian Kebudayaan Wilayah X menegaskan budaya itu sifatnya dinamis.”Budaya itu mengikuti tren yang berkembang di masyarakat, kita bisa olah sesuai dengan kondisi kebutuhan masyarakat,” terang Mangar dalam Diskusi Pemajuan Kebudayaan, di Gedung C7 FISIP UNNES, Kamis 3 Oktober 2024.

Untuk mencegah hilangnya budaya yang ada saat ini, diperlukan peran masyarakat termasuk anak muda untuk ikut menghidupkan budaya. “kita membantu melakukan tata kelola budaya, budaya tidak akan hidup kalau masyarakat tidak menghidupkannya,” ucap Manggar.

Purna Cipta Nugraha dari Komunitas Hysteria, menambahkan tanpa ada pelestarian di tingkat lokal. “ sebesar apapun negara mendorongnya jika di ranah lokal kemudian tidak ada usaha melestarikan kebudayaannya sendiri, mustahil akan tetap kebudayaan tersebut,” tambah Purna.

Negara harus memiliki strategi pemajuan kebudayaan, seperti yang dilakukan di Negara Korea Selatan. “ Kemajuan Kebudayaan adalah kunci, negara ikut memberdayakan kebudayaan lokal yang ada di masyarakat.” terang Purna.

Peran anak muda dalam pemajuan kebudayaan ikut terlibat dalam pelaksanaan kebudayaan sesuai dengan peminatannya. Mereka dapat menjadi pelaku kebudayaan, dan juga sebagai konsumen kebudayaan.

Pembicara selanjutnya dalam diskusi itu, Dosen Sejarah UNNES Ufi Saraswati menambahkan mahasiswa juga bisa berperan untuk mempertahankan budaya. “ Mahasiswa bisa mempelajari dan membaca naskah-naskah kuno yang masih ada dan mempublikasikannya agra banyak orang-orang yang paham, terkait kebudayaan yang sudah menakar di Indonesia,” kata Ufi.

Peran mahasiswa lainnya, supaya mahasiswa tertarik untuk melestarikan kebudayaan yaitu dengan jalan-jalan ke lokasi wisata yang menawarkan wisata budaya.Dengan cultural experience itu mereka akan menemukan pengetahuan dan kecintaannya dengan budaya tersebut.
