Today, Tuesday, June 16, 2020, a National Webinar with the theme “Educational Challenges in the Industrial Revolution Era 4.0 in Facing a New Normal” was held online by the Department of Economic Education, Faculty of Economics, Universitas Negeri Semarang in collaboration with Medan State University and the Indonesian Economy Teachers Association. This webinar is a series of activities on the 14th Integrated Economic Dynamics (DET) FE UNNES, attended by the Head of the Economic Education Department and attended by guests from various backgrounds ranging from lecturers, teachers, students, and the general public. This webinar was preceded by remarks from the Head of the Department of Economic Education, Ahmad Nurkhin, S. Pd., M. Si, and then continued and symbolically opened (online) by the Dean of the FE UNNES, Drs. Heri Yanto, MBA., Ph. D. In his remarks, the Dean of FE appreciated the holding of this webinar activity because it answered the challenges in education when facing the new normal.
In the main session, there was a presentation first by the Professor of Economics and the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, State University of Medan, Prof. Indra Maipita, M. Si., Ph. D with the theme “Challenges of Economic and Business Educator Resources in the New Normal Era.” Then the second material was delivered by the Chairperson of the Indonesian Economic Teachers Association (AGEI) and the OSN Coordinator for Senior High School Economics, Drs. Wiji Purwanta, M. Pd with the theme “Learning Strategies in Economics and Business in the New Normal Period.” In guiding this national webinar, acting as moderator is Inaya Sari Melati, S. Pd., M. Pd, Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics, UNNES. The essence of the material that has been conveyed is that educators/teachers must be prepared with various things that exist in the face of the new normal era. Therefore, several ways can be done, including upgrading the knowledge and skills in learning to suit the current conditions and developing a priority scale for learning that must be completed first. Educators must also have critical thinking skills, problem-solving skills, and thinking out of the box; then, it can be conveyed to students to adapt to the new normal era.
