Tuesday, 19 May 2020, Erasmus UNNES Growth Hub Series held another sharing session. Unlike the previous activities held “on the spot,” this time, the event was held online. The topic raised was very interesting and relevant to current conditions, namely “UNNES Growth Hub Discussion: Tips for Maintaining Business in Facing Corona Pandemic Conditions in Indonesia.” This webinar activity starts at 09.00 WIB by inviting speakers who are, of course, experts in the field of “entrepreneur,” Dodik Arifanto, H.W (Owner CV Arsia Monslava Distributor) and Syam Widia, S.E., MBA (Lecturer in Management UNNES).
The event began with a description of Mr. Dodi’s distributor business, then continued with the “Lumpia Lekya” business initiated by Mrs. Syam Widia. Each of these entrepreneurs has its strategies for developing its business, but both started from small home businesses. The pandemic situation makes business actors, including the two entrepreneurs, think hard to maintain a business during changes in the consumption order and people’s lives by aggressively utilizing social media and marketplaces to promote and sell online.
The event was closed with a sharing session or a question and answer session from the participants, most of whom were students who already had businesses. Ups and downs in building the business are natural things; as Jack Ma said, “failed to rise again, failed to rise again.” Do not be afraid to start a business; while there is still a chance, do it now.
