Complete Timeline for the 2026 UNNES Independent Admissions Process: Don’t Miss Out!

UNNES Buddies, the UTBK-SNBT 2026 exam period has just recently ended. While waiting for the nerve-wracking result announcement, this is the perfect time to prepare a backup plan (Plan B). Don’t let yourself go blank and lose direction if the results are not as expected later.

As the “Conservation Campus of Choice for Gen Z”, Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) opens its doors as wide as possible through the Independent Selection (SM) track. Amazingly, UNNES doesn’t just open one, but four independent tracks at once with different advantages and target applicants!

To build a solid registration strategy, make sure to save the UNNES Independent Selection 2026 schedule along with the details of each track below:

1. SM Prestasi (Highly Recommended!)

Do you hold a championship certificate in academic, sports, arts, science, or religious competitions! This could be your golden ticket! SM Prestasi (Achievement Track) is now open exclusively for 2026 graduates.

The highlight of this track is its very friendly cost. Successful applicants will benefit from a highly subsidized tuition fee (UKT) ranging from Rp500,000 to Rp1,000,000/semester and be FREE from the Institutional Development Fee (IPI) or admission fee!

  • Mechanism: Upload certificate -> Pass verification -> Continue with internal UTBK + Interview/Talent show (offline).
  • Registration Schedule: May 04 – 29, 2026 (Registration is currently open!)

2. SM Tulis (Largest Quota)

If you do not have achievement certificates, there is no need to worry. SM Tulis (Written Test) is the main independent track with the largest admission quota. This track is open for high school/vocational school/Islamic high school equivalents who graduated within the last 3 years (2024, 2025, and 2026 graduates).

  • Mechanism: Take the UNNES internal Computer-Based Written Test (UTBK). There is an additional specific skill test for applicants of arts or sports study programs.
  • Wave I Schedule: May 25 – June 17, 2026
  • Wave II Schedule: July 01 – 15, 2026

3. SM Skor UTBK-SNBT (Most Practical)

Confident in your recent SNBT result? You can use your scores to apply through the SM UTBK-SNBT Score track. The SM UTBK-SNBT Score track does not require an additional written exam; simply upload your official score certificate and await the selection result. Just upload your score certificate and wait for the results!

  • Mechanism: Pure assessment using the 2026 UTBK-SNBT score (except for applicants of arts/sports study programs who are required to take a skill test).
  • Wave I Schedule: June 01 – 11, 2026
  • Wave II Schedule: June 25 – July 09, 2026

4. SM International Undergraduate Program (IUP)

Looking for global exposure without leaving the country? The IUP ((International Undergraduate Program) track offers a an enriched academic experience through integrated classes for local  and international students), student exchange programs, international internships, a double degree opportunities. This track is open for Indonesian Citizens (WNI) and International (WNA) applicants who graduated within the last three years.

  • Mechanism: Document verification, online written test, and interview. Fees use the International Class UKT scheme and Category 4 IPI.
  • Registration Schedule: January 20 – June 19, 2026 (Registration is currently ongoing!)
