Peringati Hari Bumi 2026, FMIPA UNNES Tuang Eco-Enzyme di Embung

Dalam rangka memperingati Hari Bumi Sedunia 2026, civitas akademika Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (FMIPA) Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) menggelar aksi lingkungan berupa penuangan eco-enzyme di Embung UNNES pada Sabtu, 25 April 2026. Kegiatan ini merupakan wujud komitmen kampus dalam merespons isu pencemaran lingkungan yang menjadi bagian dari konsep Triple Planetary Crisis.

Kegiatan tersebut melibatkan dosen dan sekitar 90 mahasiswa dari Program Studi Ilmu Lingkungan FMIPA UNNES. Turut hadir Koordinator Program Studi Ilmu Lingkungan, Dr. Andhina Putri Heriyanti, M.Si., bersama tim dosen yang terdiri atas Trida Ridho Fariz, M.Sc., Abdul Jabbar, M.Ling., Amnan Haris, M.Ling., dan Noer Farida, S.Pd.

Eco-enzyme yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini merupakan hasil proyek pembelajaran Mata Kuliah Kimia Lingkungan yang diampu oleh Abdul Jabbar, M.Ling., Dr. Triastuti Sulistyaningsih, M.Si., dan Prof. Dr. Murbangun Nuswowati, M.Si. Produk tersebut dihasilkan melalui proses fermentasi sekitar 18 kilogram limbah organik berupa sisa sayuran dan kulit buah yang menghasilkan sekitar 63 liter eco-enzyme.

Abdul Jabbar, M.Ling., menjelaskan bahwa kegiatan ini merupakan implementasi konsep praktikum berdampak, yaitu pembelajaran yang tidak hanya berorientasi pada peningkatan pengetahuan mahasiswa, tetapi juga memberikan kontribusi nyata terhadap lingkungan. Mahasiswa tidak hanya memahami konsep kimia dan pengelolaan limbah, tetapi juga terlibat langsung dalam aksi pelestarian lingkungan, khususnya pada ekosistem perairan.

Secara fungsional, eco-enzyme memiliki potensi untuk menstimulasi aktivitas mikroorganisme alami serta membantu menekan bau dan kandungan bahan organik ringan di perairan seperti embung. Pemanfaatannya dalam kegiatan ini tidak hanya bersifat simbolis, tetapi juga menjadi bagian dari edukasi pengelolaan lingkungan berbasis praktik.

Trida Ridho Fariz, M.Sc., yang juga tergabung dalam tim SDGs dan Konservasi FMIPA, menyampaikan bahwa momentum Hari Bumi menjadi waktu yang tepat untuk memperkuat kesadaran kolektif terhadap permasalahan pencemaran lingkungan, khususnya pada ekosistem perairan.

“Secara hidrologis, kawasan UNNES berada di wilayah hulu dan tengah Daerah Aliran Sungai Garang sehingga memiliki tanggung jawab strategis dalam menjaga kualitas sumber daya air. Posisi tersebut menuntut peran aktif dalam menjaga tubuh air karena dampaknya tidak hanya dirasakan di lingkungan kampus, tetapi juga hingga wilayah hilir” imbuh Trida.

Kegiatan ini sekaligus mendukung pencapaian Sustainable Development Goals, khususnya SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), SDG 13 (Climate Action), dan SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) melalui upaya menjaga kualitas lingkungan perairan.

Melalui kegiatan ini, FMIPA UNNES diharapkan terus menjadi motor penggerak dalam pengembangan pembelajaran berbasis aksi nyata yang berkontribusi terhadap keberlanjutan lingkungan serta memperkuat peran perguruan tinggi dalam menjawab tantangan global.
