The Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, or BEM FMIPA, Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), officially opened MIPA Mengabdi 2026 on Monday, July 6, 2026, in Peron Village, Limbangan District, Kendal Regency. The program serves as an implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education through community service and as a platform to shape students who care about social issues.
A tiniotal of 62 students, consisting of BEM FMIPA UNNES members and FMIPA UNNES volunteers, participated in the program. Their presence was warmly welcomed by the Peron Village Government and local residents, who expressed hope that the collaboration would bring benefits to the village.
The Head of Peron Village, Erna Hermawati, appreciated the presence of FMIPA UNNES students who chose Peron Village as the location for their community service program.
“We warmly welcome the presence of FMIPA UNNES students. Hopefully, this activity will provide benefits to the community while also becoming a valuable experience for all participants,” she said.
The Head of BEM FMIPA UNNES, Ronaldo, emphasized that MIPA Mengabdi is a concrete form of implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly in community service.
“We want students to be directly present in the community, to learn, collaborate, and make a real contribution to Peron Village. This program is also a form of support for the sustainability of the PPK Ormawa BEM FMIPA UNNES program that has been carried out in this village,” he explained.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of MIPA Mengabdi 2026, Ikfi Maulida, explained that the program is an annual agenda of BEM FMIPA UNNES. This year, the program is centered in Peron Village as part of the commitment to presenting sustainable community service.
“Alhamdulillah, the opening of this activity received a very positive response from the village government and the local community. This has become a motivation for us to carry out the entire series of programs as well as possible,” said Ikfi.
During the implementation of the program, students will collaborate with the community through various activities related to empowerment, education, and the development of village potential. Through MIPA Mengabdi 2026, BEM FMIPA UNNES hopes to strengthen synergy between higher education institutions and the community while fostering a generation of students who are adaptive, humane, and capable of making a real impact on the development of Peron Village.
This program also supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) through the development of students’ social awareness, leadership, and community-based learning experiences. The program also aligns with SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) by supporting the development of Peron Village through empowerment and local potential development. In addition, MIPA Mengabdi 2026 contributes to SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by strengthening collaboration among students, higher education institutions, village government, and local communities.
Through this activity, BEM FMIPA UNNES is expected to continue strengthening the role of students as agents of change who are not only active in campus organizations, but also able to contribute directly to society through sustainable and meaningful community service programs.
