KARIMUNJAWA – A team from Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) provided mentoring and training for teachers of SMP Negeri 1 Karimunjawa through the implementation of Liveworksheet integrated with the Joyful and Meaningful Learning approach.
The activity was conducted to strengthen teachers’ capacity in developing more interactive, effective, and engaging literacy and numeracy learning. Through the use of the digital platform Liveworksheet, teachers were encouraged to design evaluation materials that are aligned with the characteristics of the Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM) and the National Assessment.
This activity is related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 on Quality Education. The training supports teacher capacity building in designing literacy and numeracy learning that is more relevant to students’ needs and the demands of 21st-century education.
The training served as one of the efforts to improve teacher competence in responding to the challenges of literacy- and numeracy-based learning. Teachers are not only expected to prepare assessment items that meet AKM indicators, but also to create learning experiences that encourage students to think critically, understand real-life contexts, and solve everyday problems.
The mentoring session was delivered by Nur Achmey Selgi Harwanti. During the session, participants received a demonstration on how to create, manage, and apply Liveworksheet as a digital learning medium. The platform enables teachers to develop interactive worksheets that can be used for practice, evaluation, and concept reinforcement in a more engaging way for students.
The use of Liveworksheet is also connected to SDG 9 on Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, especially in the aspect of technology-based learning innovation. Through this digital platform, teachers can develop more interactive and accessible evaluation media to support the teaching and learning process at school.
Teachers of SMP Negeri 1 Karimunjawa participated enthusiastically throughout the activity. This was reflected in the number of questions, discussions, and active responses from participants during the session. Through this training, teachers are expected to integrate educational technology more effectively into the teaching and learning process.
“With strong literacy and numeracy competence, supported by technological mastery through Liveworksheet, teachers of SMPN 1 Karimunjawa are expected to be better prepared to guide students in facing AKM and the National Assessment in a more enjoyable way,” said Nur Achmey Selgi Harwanti.
The activity was guided by Puput Relitasari and featured three speakers who delivered interconnected materials. In addition to the implementation of Liveworksheet, participants also received reinforcement on the concepts of Joyful and Meaningful Learning and literacy-numeracy learning.
Prof. Dr. Wardono delivered material on Joyful and Meaningful Learning. He explained that meaningful and enjoyable learning can help students discover concepts independently. This approach is important in preparing students for AKM and the National Assessment.
“Students can discover concepts independently in a meaningful and enjoyable way. This serves as an important foundation in preparing for AKM and the National Assessment,” he stated.
The next session was delivered by Prof. Dr. rer. nat. YL Sukestiyarno, who discussed literacy and numeracy. He explained that numeracy literacy refers to an individual’s ability to use numbers, symbols, and mathematical concepts to solve problems in various real-life contexts and make appropriate decisions.
Through this activity, UNNES expects teachers of SMP Negeri 1 Karimunjawa to develop learning practices that are more adaptive to the needs of 21st-century education. The integration of Liveworksheet, literacy and numeracy, and the Joyful and Meaningful Learning approach is expected to improve learning quality while strengthening students’ readiness for AKM and the National Assessment.
This activity also reflects UNNES’ contribution to SDG 4 and SDG 9 through teacher capacity building, literacy and numeracy development, and the use of digital technology in learning.
