Semarang, 28 July 2026 – Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) conducted an international accreditation site visit by the Accreditation, Certification and Quality Assurance Institute (ACQUIN) on 27–28 July 2026. The site visit was carried out in a hybrid format, with members of the review panel participating both on-site and online. This accreditation process represents an important milestone in UNNES’ ongoing efforts to strengthen the international recognition of its academic quality.

The two-day site visit involved various stakeholders from across the University. Throughout the assessment, the ACQUIN review panel conducted a series of interviews and verification sessions to evaluate the implementation of the University’s internal quality assurance system, institutional governance, teaching and learning processes, research, community engagement, international collaboration, and other supporting aspects of higher education delivery.

The interview sessions involved the university’s top management, administrative staff, academic staff, students, and alumni. Through open and constructive discussions, the review panel gained comprehensive insights into the implementation of UNNES’ quality culture, the active involvement of all stakeholders in institutional development, and the best practices adopted in carrying out the University’s three core missions of higher education—education, research, and community engagement.

During the sessions, representatives from each stakeholder group presented their achievements and shared examples of good practices in both academic and non-academic areas. The University’s top management outlined its strategic policies to support internationalisation, strengthen institutional governance, and promote continuous quality enhancement. Meanwhile, academic staff, administrative staff, students, and alumni shared their experiences regarding the learning process, academic services, institutional support, and the impact of UNNES graduates in the professional world.

  11. Bachelor of Development Economics
  12. Bachelor of Islamic Economics and Finance

Each study programme presented substantial evidence of quality assurance implementation, innovative teaching and learning practices, graduate achievements, collaborative partnerships, and contributions to advancing UNNES’ vision of internationalisation.

The hybrid site visit was conducted smoothly through close coordination among the University’s leadership, faculties, study programmes, and supporting units. The effective utilisation of information technology ensured seamless communication and interview sessions while maintaining the integrity and quality of the assessment conducted by the review panel.

The ACQUIN site visit represents an important milestone for UNNES in demonstrating its commitment to meeting international quality standards and fostering a culture of continuous quality improvement. Beyond serving as an external evaluation, the assessment also provides valuable strategic recommendations to further strengthen institutional governance, enhance the quality of teaching and learning, and improve the global competitiveness of UNNES graduates.

Through this international accreditation process, UNNES expects all participating study programmes to achieve favourable accreditation outcomes and further strengthen the University’s position as an internationally recognised higher education institution committed to academic excellence, innovation, and sustainable quality enhancement.
