The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Universitas Negeri Semarang (FISIP UNNES) continues to strengthen its commitment to inclusive education through various programs focused on empowering persons with disabilities. The initiative was carried out in early June 2026 as part of efforts to create an equitable and non-discriminatory educational environment.
The program emphasizes the importance of accessible education, including the use of braille as a literacy medium for visually impaired individuals. In addition, empowerment activities are conducted to enhance participants’ skills, confidence, and active participation in social life.
Through this approach, FISIP UNNES not only focuses on academic learning but also on social empowerment and skill development. “Inclusive education must provide equal access for all individuals, including persons with disabilities, so they can develop their full potential,” was stated during the program.
The initiative also involves collaboration with various communities and practitioners working in the disability sector, ensuring broader impact and effective implementation. This collaborative approach is essential in building a sustainable and inclusive education ecosystem.
Beyond braille literacy, the program highlights the importance of skill development and social participation among persons with disabilities. The goal is to empower them not only as beneficiaries but also as active contributors to society.
Through this initiative, FISIP UNNES demonstrates its commitment to promoting inclusive, equitable, and empowerment-oriented education for all.
This activity supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
