Semarang – Perkembangan teknologi kecerdasan buatan (Artificial Intelligence/AI) telah membawa perubahan besar dalam dunia pendidikan. Di balik berbagai kemudahan yang ditawarkan, penggunaan AI yang tidak diimbangi dengan kemampuan berpikir kritis berpotensi menimbulkan ketergantungan yang memengaruhi kualitas proses belajar. Berangkat dari fenomena tersebut, tim Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa Riset Sosial Humaniora (PKM-RSH) 2026 melaksanakan penelitian bertajuk “Mutualisme Menjadi Parasitisme? Menguak Ilusi Kompetensi dan Degradasi Penalaran Matematis Calon Guru Matematika di Era Ketergantungan Kecerdasan Buatan”. Penelitian berlangsung pada 15 Juni hingga 7 September 2026 dengan melibatkan tiga perguruan tinggi, yakni Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), Universitas PGRI Semarang, dan UIN Walisongo Semarang.

Penelitian dilaksanakan oleh tim yang terdiri atas Elisa Mutiara Fatmadewi, Sabrina Aprilia, Ahmad Taufik Hidayat, Nafa Nur Rakhima, dan Indah Maulidya. Menariknya, di tengah dominasi mahasiswa berlatar belakang pendidikan matematika, Nafa Nur Rakhima, mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Sosiologi dan Antropologi, Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik (FISIP) UNNES, turut mengambil peran penting dalam tim riset tersebut. Kehadiran mahasiswa FISIP menunjukkan bahwa isu pemanfaatan AI dalam pendidikan tidak hanya dapat dikaji dari perspektif pedagogik dan teknologi, tetapi juga membutuhkan pendekatan ilmu sosial untuk memahami perubahan perilaku, budaya belajar, serta dinamika interaksi manusia dengan teknologi digital.

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji hubungan antara tingkat ketergantungan penggunaan AI, munculnya ilusi kompetensi, serta kemampuan penalaran peserta didik dalam menyelesaikan persoalan akademik. Tim peneliti ingin memahami bagaimana teknologi yang pada awalnya berfungsi sebagai mitra belajar (mutualism) dapat bergeser menjadi bentuk ketergantungan (parasitism) apabila digunakan tanpa kemampuan reflektif dan evaluatif. Kondisi tersebut dikhawatirkan dapat menurunkan kemampuan berpikir analitis, kreativitas, dan proses penalaran yang menjadi fondasi penting bagi calon pendidik di masa depan.

Selama pelaksanaan penelitian, tim melakukan pengumpulan data di tiga perguruan tinggi mitra melalui berbagai instrumen penelitian yang dirancang untuk mengidentifikasi pola penggunaan AI oleh mahasiswa, persepsi terhadap kemampuan diri, serta dampaknya terhadap kemampuan menyelesaikan permasalahan akademik secara mandiri. Pendekatan multidisiplin menjadi salah satu kekuatan penelitian ini karena memadukan perspektif pendidikan, psikologi pembelajaran, dan ilmu sosial dalam membaca fenomena transformasi pembelajaran di era digital.

Keterlibatan Nafa Nur Rakhima sebagai mahasiswa Pendidikan Sosiologi dan Antropologi memberikan warna tersendiri dalam penelitian ini. Perspektif sosiologi digunakan untuk mengkaji bagaimana perkembangan teknologi AI membentuk budaya belajar baru, memengaruhi konstruksi kepercayaan diri mahasiswa, serta mengubah pola interaksi antara manusia dan teknologi dalam proses pendidikan. Pendekatan tersebut diharapkan mampu menghasilkan rekomendasi yang tidak hanya berfokus pada aspek teknis penggunaan AI, tetapi juga memperhatikan dimensi sosial, etika, dan perilaku pengguna.

Tim peneliti menilai bahwa perkembangan AI perlu direspons secara bijaksana melalui penguatan literasi digital, kemampuan berpikir kritis, dan pembelajaran reflektif. Teknologi seharusnya menjadi alat yang memperkuat kompetensi manusia, bukan menggantikan proses berpikir yang menjadi inti pendidikan. Oleh karena itu, hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi masukan bagi perguruan tinggi dalam merancang strategi pembelajaran yang mampu mengoptimalkan pemanfaatan AI tanpa mengurangi kualitas kemampuan berpikir mahasiswa.

Kolaborasi lintas disiplin dan lintas perguruan tinggi dalam penelitian ini juga menjadi contoh bagaimana tantangan pendidikan di era digital membutuhkan kerja sama berbagai bidang ilmu. Bagi FISIP UNNES, keterlibatan mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Sosiologi dan Antropologi dalam riset tersebut memperlihatkan bahwa ilmu sosial memiliki kontribusi strategis dalam memahami dampak sosial transformasi teknologi terhadap dunia pendidikan serta perilaku generasi muda.

Penelitian PKM-RSH 2026 ini selaras dengan upaya mendukung pencapaian Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), khususnya SDG 4 (Quality Education) melalui pengembangan pembelajaran yang berkualitas, adaptif, dan berorientasi pada penguatan kemampuan berpikir kritis di era kecerdasan buatan. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga mendukung SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) melalui kajian terhadap pemanfaatan teknologi digital secara inovatif dan bertanggung jawab dalam pendidikan, serta SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) melalui kolaborasi riset antarmahasiswa dan antarlembaga pendidikan tinggi. Melalui penelitian ini, mahasiswa UNNES menunjukkan bahwa inovasi teknologi perlu selalu diimbangi dengan pendekatan humanistik agar mampu menghasilkan transformasi pendidikan yang berkelanjutan dan berpusat pada pengembangan kualitas manusia.
