Semarang, January 23, 2026 — The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) held a Briefing for FEB Working Group Coordinators on Friday (January 23, 2026) at the Laboratory Room, 6th Floor of Building L4, FEB UNNES. The event was attended by the Dean of FEB UNNES, Prof. Dr. Amir Mahmud, M.Si., along with the Vice Deans for Academic and Student Affairs, Planning and Resources, and Business, Research, and Partnerships.

This briefing forms part of the implementation of the FEB UNNES Development Program 2026, a strategic framework designed to strengthen academic performance, research productivity, global reputation, and the faculty’s contribution to sustainable economic development. The program is aligned with UNNES’s policy direction as a Legal Entity State University (PTNBH), the 2026 Sustaining Phase, the World Class University (WCU) roadmap, Key Performance Indicators (IKU), and the institutional mapping of contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In his address, the Dean of FEB UNNES, Prof. Dr. Amir Mahmud, M.Si., emphasized that internationalization and the strengthening of SDGs are core pillars of FEB UNNES’s performance acceleration strategy for 2026. Internationalization is pursued not only through expanding international partnerships, but also through enhancing the quality of learning, developing internationally oriented curricula, increasing student and staff mobility, and strengthening high-impact research and internationally indexed publications.

“All FEB working groups must move in a unified, measurable, and impact-oriented direction. Each program should directly contribute to improvements in academic quality, research performance, global reputation, and the achievement of UNNES’s World Class University targets,” the Dean stated.

In line with the FEB UNNES Development Program 2026, the briefing underscored the integration of working group programs with six priority SDGs, namely SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). These priorities are considered highly relevant to FEB’s academic disciplines and its strategic role in promoting sustainable economic development and community empowerment.

The strengthening of internationalization and SDGs is also directed toward improving UNNES’s performance in global university rankings, particularly the Times Higher Education World University Rankings (THE WUR). The FEB Development Program 2026 explicitly targets key performance indicators such as papers per faculty, citations per paper, international research networks, student and staff mobility, as well as academic and employer reputation.

The Vice Deans of FEB UNNES also delivered strategic guidance in accordance with their respective portfolios. The academic and student affairs division emphasized the strengthening of Outcome-Based Education (OBE), international mobility, and global student achievements. The planning and resources division highlighted the importance of data-driven governance and effective resource allocation to support priority programs. Meanwhile, the business, research, and partnerships division stressed the acceleration of international publications, global research collaboration, industry engagement, and sustainable income-generating initiatives.

The event was attended by lecturers and educational staff who serve as coordinators of various working groups within FEB UNNES. Through this briefing, FEB UNNES reaffirmed its commitment to positioning the 2026 Development Program as a key instrument for accelerating faculty performance, while simultaneously contributing to UNNES’s vision as a conservation-oriented university with strong international reputation and a tangible impact on the achievement of the SDGs.
