The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) conducted a working visit to the Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Hasanuddin (UNHAS) to strengthen cooperation between State Universities with Legal Entity Status (PTN-BH). This initiative aimed to benchmark the development of higher education Tridharma and learn about faculty business development.
This visit, which took place on September 26, 2024, marked an important step in strengthening the synergy between the two institutions, especially in terms of research, community service, and academic development. FEB UNNES sought to benchmark the best practices implemented by FEB UNHAS, with the hope of adopting and developing similar strategies in their own faculty.
Collaboration in Research and Community Service
A primary focus of the meeting was to build broader collaboration in future research. FEB UNNES and FEB UNHAS agreed to strengthen Tridharma activities, particularly in joint research relevant to economic and business issues in Indonesia. This research collaboration is expected to generate innovations and practical solutions to support economic development both locally and nationally.
Additionally, the two faculties are also planning joint community service programs that will be carried out on two major islands, Java and Sulawesi. These community service activities are not only expected to have a positive impact on the local communities but also to expand the outreach of each faculty’s community engagement.
Faculty Business Development
FEB UNNES also studied the management and business development conducted by FEB UNHAS. The business model developed at FEB UNHAS has successfully improved the welfare of both the faculty and its students, which serves as an inspiration for FEB UNNES to apply similar strategies. Through this learning experience, FEB UNNES aims to develop more productive and innovative business units within the faculty, supporting institutional independence and sustainability.
Hopes for Collaboration
Both FEB UNNES and FEB UNHAS hope this collaboration will enhance the variety of Tridharma activities, create stronger research collaborations, and expand the impact of community service efforts. FEB UNNES also hopes to gain valuable insights into faculty business development to increase the competitiveness and independence of the faculty in the long term.
This collaboration is expected to be a cornerstone for both faculties to continue working together in academic, research, and business development, for the advancement of higher education in Indonesia.
