Wisuda ke-141 UNNES, Rektor Tekankan Kegigihan bagi Lulusan

Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) mewisuda 1.500 lulusan dalam Upacara Wisuda ke-141 yang berlangsung di Gedung Auditorium Prof. Wuryanto UNNES, Sabtu (8/8). Pada kesempatan tersebut, Rektor UNNES Prof. Dr. S Martono, M.Si. mengajak para lulusan untuk terus memelihara kegigihan atau grit sebagai bekal membangun karier dan kewirausahaan. 

Sebanyak 1.500 lulusan tersebut terdiri atas 19 lulusan Program Doktor (S3), 72 lulusan Program Magister (S2), 2 lulusan Program Profesi, 1.405 lulusan Program Sarjana (S1), dan 2 lulusan Program Diploma (D3).

Prof Martono menyampaikan bahwa keberhasilan menyelesaikan pendidikan merupakan capaian yang patut dibanggakan dan disyukuri karena diraih melalui perjuangan dan proses yang panjang. Menurutnya, keberhasilan para lulusan sampai pada tahap wisuda sekaligus menjadi bukti kegigihan dalam menjalani proses pendidikan.

“Saudara hari ini diwisuda karena telah melampaui proses panjang. Ke depannya, kegigihan yang sudah Saudara miliki ini harus terus dipertahankan agar dapat diaktualisasikan dalam menghadapi tantangan nyata,” ujarnya.

Dalam sambutannya, Prof Martono merujuk buku Grit: Kekuatan Passion dan Kegigihan karya psikolog Angela Duckworth. Ia menyampaikan bahwa kesuksesan seseorang dalam membangun karier maupun usaha tidak hanya ditentukan oleh kemampuan intelektual dan dukungan sosial, tetapi juga kegigihan dalam menjalani proses.

Menurutnya, individu yang gigih memiliki kesungguhan terhadap bidang yang ditekuni dan kemauan untuk terus berlatih dalam jangka panjang. Kegigihan juga ditunjukkan dengan kemampuan mempertahankan tujuan serta harapan ketika menghadapi berbagai kesulitan.

Dalam menghadapi tantangan setelah menyelesaikan pendidikan, Prof Martono menitipkan tiga pesan kepada para lulusan. Pertama, lulusan diminta terus merawat minat terhadap ilmu pengetahuan.

Kedua, para lulusan diharapkan terus membangun jejaring yang sehat, baik secara profesional maupun sosial. Ketiga, lulusan didorong untuk mengaitkan karier yang dijalani dengan tujuan yang lebih besar daripada kepentingan pribadi.

“Apapun karier yang Saudara geluti, kaitkan dengan sesuatu yang lebih besar dari diri Saudara sendiri. Jadikan pengabdian Saudara bukan semata-mata sebagai transaksi profesional, tetapi perjuangan dalam memajukan keluarga, masyarakat, bangsa, dan negara,” pesannya.

Prof Martono juga menyampaikan apresiasi kepada orang tua dan keluarga yang telah mendampingi para wisudawan selama menempuh pendidikan. Ia menyampaikan bahwa keberhasilan para lulusan tidak terlepas dari doa dan perjuangan keluarga dan berharap bekal ilmu yang diperoleh selama menempuh pendidikan di UNNES dapat diterapkan dan memberi manfaat bagi masyarakat.
