Six lecturers and six students from Chemistry Department of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) conducted a scientific visit and networking at Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) for two days, Monday-Tuesday (29-30 / 1 / 2018).
Assoc Prof. Dr. Roswanira as team leader of UTM, who is also the chair of group research of Enzym Technology and Green Synthesis Group (ETGS), there are also Dr. Naji Arafat Mahat (Forensic science expert), Dr. Nursyafreena Attan (Material Science and Catalysis expert), Dr. Sheela Chandren (Photocatalysis and nanostructure materials expert), Dr. Fazira Ilyana Abdul Razak (Organometallic synthesis and computational expert), and Dr. Mohd Afiq Mohd Huri (Explosive analysis).
The arrival of Dr. Roswanira and her team was welcomed by the Dean of FMIPA Prof. Dr. Zaenuri along with his staff.
The aim of the visitation is to introduce UTM Chemistry Department with all academic and non-academic activities to the academic community in Chemistry Department of FMIPA.
Several cooperation opportunities are offered, including joint research, book chapter writing, and students’ mobility. UNNES already has MoU with UTM, this activity as one of the implementation of the important points agreed in the MoU.
The activities of January 30, 2018 in the chemistry department also involved the Forensic team of Central Java. The team from UTM (Dr Naji Arafat Mahat and team) presented research activites of Forensic Science. The cooperation between UNNES, UTM, and Central Java Forensic Lab has been realized with MoM signing between the three sides
At the end of the activity, the Dean of FMIPA handed over a series of souvenirs to UTM guests, and in return Dr. Roswanira also handed souvenirs to the Dean of FMIPA and the Head of Chemical Department Dr Nanik Wijayati MSi.
