UNNES Student Team Won Two Gold Medals in International Events

Universitas Negeri Semarang won the Gold Medals in the International Applied Science Olympiad (I2ASPO) organized by the Indonesian Young Sciences Association (IYSA) and was attended by more than 50 teams that were held online on December 20, 2020.

This international competition carries “Think Creative, Big Impact” theme, where participants are challenged to be able to present their best ideas to make a greatest impact for the world, even though it is still in a pandemic era.

In another competition this team also won a Gold Medal at the 2020 Khayyam International Invention and Innovation Festival.

Khayyam is an annual innovation festival that is regularly held in Turkey, Iran. This event can be followed by groups and individual scientists from around the world to show their best work.

The UNNES team are membered by five students, Afif Aliyfia Alfian and Ilmiana Nur Maulida from Electrical Engineering, Naila Khoirina from Chemical Engineering, Natasya Ayu Salsabilla from English Literature, Naftalina Ulik Adhelia from Chemistry Education.

The team was guided by Mr. Arimaz Hangga ST MT and managed to won the achievements that make UNNES proud.

Rector UNNES Prof. Dr. Fathur Rokhman MHum congratulated students who won the Gold Medal. “Alhamdulillah, at the end of this year UNNES international achievements are continue to increase. This medal proves that UNNES are able to compete at the international event, with the ‘UNNES Unggul Untuk Indonesia Maju’ spirit, let’s continue to make another great achievements,” explained Prof. Fathur Rokhman, Monday (28/12).

By this achievement, the Vice Rector for Student Affair Dr. Abdurrahman MPd hopes that students are motivated to make the achievements that delivered UNNES to an international reputation.
