One of the Student Startup teams, Energel, from Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) passed to participate in the global startup incubation organized by Nexus and has taken place in several countries, namely the US, China, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Uganda, Vietnam, and the Philippines. This activity is a business incubation that aims to produce smart & renewable energy unicorn startup candidates around the world. The development of startups, especially in the field of smart and renewable energy, is one of the important agendas to create entrepreneurs who can develop and implement smart and renewable energy around the world.
The Energel team has gone through various stages of selection before being selected as the top 5 teams that qualify for this program. The 5 teams that passed are startups that are engaged and have run their business in the smart and renewable energy sector in Indonesia. The selection stage begins with file selection, followed by stage 1 interviews with the program manager and stage 2 with the program director and investment director and then passed.
Energel is an innovative product for portable stove fuel that is safe, economical and environmentally friendly based on bioethanol which is expected to be able to contribute to the application of smart and renewable fuels in Indonesia to achieve national energy security.
The Energel team consists of several students under the guidance of Dhoni Hartanto ST MT MSc Lecturer of Chemical Engineering Department with Muhammad Salman Alfarisi (S1 Chemical Engineering) as Director and Product Manager, Muhamad Mahfud Muzadi (S1 Chemical Engineering) as Co-director and Operational Manager, Fajar Abdurrafi (S1 Management) as Marketing Manager, and Fika Nur Auralia (S1 Chemical Engineering) as Finance Manager.
Energel products come in various size variants, namely 200 grams, 500 grams, and 1 kg to suit the needs of target consumers such as outdoor activities because they are practical so they are easy to carry and use.
