Three Universities Sign Memorandum of Understanding for Organizing Kampus Merdeka and Merdeka Belajar programs

Universities are increasingly required to be able to carry out collaborative research and capacity building, in order to succeed in the implementation of the program of Ministry of Cultural Education (Kemendikbud) which are Kampus Merdeka and Merdeka Belajar.

Universities are increasingly required to be able to carry out collaborative research and capacity building, in order to succed in the implementation of the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) program, namely Kampus Merdeka and Merdeka Belajar.

Therefore, in order to create an Independent Campus (Kampus Merdeka), three universities in Central Java, namely Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), and Universitas Jendral Soedirman (UNSOED) signed a memorandum of understanding in virtual face-to-face via Zoom application, Tuesday (1/9).

The memorandum of understanding was signed by UNNES’s rector Prof. Dr. Fathur Rokhman MHum, UNS’s rector Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho SH MHum, and Unsoed’s rector Prof. Dr. Ir Suwarto MS.

This memorandum of understanding includes cooperation in the field of education regarding independent learning (Merdeka Belajar) programs  on an independent campus, training, internships, seminars / conferences, and workshops.

In addition, the signing of this memorandum of understanding also includes cooperation in the field of research, scientific publication, community service, and development of competency improvement in Human Resources (HR).

In his remarks, UNNES’s rector Prof. Dr. Fathur Rokhman MHum said that the signing of this collaboration was not only a partnership, but also a friendship that strengthened one another in the capacity of universities with world reputations.

“Thank you to the rector of UNS and rector of Unsoed who have agreed to sign the MoU. This collaboration also strengthens the institution and friendship in implementing the capacity of higher education, ”explained Prof. Fathur.

Furthermore, Prof. Fathur hopes that this collaboration can produce the Tridarma of university and become a strengthening for the implementation of the independent campus and free learning program.

“Hopefully this collaboration will have a positive impact on the strengthening of each university and can give contribution to Central Java and Indonesia,” concluded Prof. Fathur.
