The Transformation of Nusantara Culture in the New Normal Era Becomes the Theme of the 2021 Work Show held by PKK Department of UNNES

Covid-19 does not prevent Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) students from working. This is the spirit carried by the Department of Family Welfare Education (PKK) which held The 2021 Work Show organized by students of the PKK Study Program, Beauty Education Study Program, Culinary Arts Education Study Program and Fashion Design Education Study Program, PKK Department, Faculty of Engineering.

A performance that presents the theme “Transformation of Nusantara Culture in the New Normal Era” as an effort to elevate Indonesian culture which has been transformed into the new normal era amid the Covid-19 situation which is packaged Virtually, Tuesday (15/6).

This activity was opened by the Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Dr. Abdurrahman MPd. The Vice Rector for Student Affairs conveyed that this new life in the New Normal era made PKK Department students to innovate and be creative through the culinary work “spicy food and drink in the New Normal Era”, the work of Clothing “A New Beginning of Ethnic Fashion in the New Normal Era”. Beauty “Indonesian legend fantasy makeup” and the work of PKK “Innovation of Tempe processing and Household Waste Crafts based on Nusantara Culture in the New Normal Era.

Present virtually, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Dr H Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno BBA MBA. In his speech, Manparekraf said that the COVID-19 pandemic had a tremendous impact on various aspects, one of which was the tourism sector, the creative economy and the arts and culture of the Nusantara.

Sandiaga said that during the pandemic, artistic and cultural life had to stop. Whereas art and culture is not just entertainment, but also as a unifying tool of the nation.

“Unifying the nation can be done by presenting local wisdom which must continue to be introduced and preserved to the next generation of our nation,” explained Manparekraf.

For that, Sandiaga explained that revitalizing the tourism sector which had slumped could be done with 3 main strategies that have been implemented by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, namely innovation, adaptation, and collaboration.

“Innovation is implemented through the use of technology in organizing online and hybrid events.

The adaptation is carried out by implementing the CHSE health protocol (cleanness, health, safety, and environmental sustainability) so that Nusantara cultural events in Indonesia can be held more safely and comfortably. Collaboration is implemented with the cooperation between stakeholders, synergy in organizing the current event so that pentahelic can be implemented optimally and maximally,” he said.

Sandiaga hopes that this activity can contribute to the development of knowledge of Indonesian students and be able to become a means of developing tourism and the creative economy of Indonesia, he concluded.
