Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) has again shown its commitment to improving global education and cultural exchange through the 2024 Summer Course program. With the theme “Cultural Diversity”, UNNES accepted 50 students from 19 countries to participate in the program, which took place on (6/10-6/146).
Participants of the 2024 Summer Course come from various countries, including Libya, Gambia, United States, Yemen, Cambodia, Sudan, Thailand, Philippines, Nigeria, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Tunisia, Kazakhstan, Syria, India, Ghana, Timor-Leste, Egypt, and Tajikistan. This diversity is the spirit of UNNES in embracing cultural differences and encouraging cross-cultural understanding among international students.
In this summer course, participants will participate in various activities to introduce Indonesian culture. Some of the activities that participants will join in include gamelan games, traditional dances, batik making, eco-printing, and city tours around Semarang City.
One of the flagship activities in this program is a visit to one of the UNNES-assisted villages located in Ngesrepbalong, Limbangan District, Kendal Regency, Central Java. There, international students will be invited to see firsthand the conservation efforts of Mount Ungaran, learn about the types of coffee that grow in the area, and make eco-printing from plants that grow around the village area.
Vice Chancellor for Cooperation, Business, and International Relations UNNES, Prof. Dr. Nur Qudus, M.T., IPM. opened this activity and expressed his enthusiasm for the program.

This summer course program is not only a place for UNNES to introduce Indonesia’s cultural richness to the international world but also a platform to strengthen global networks and expand international students’ horizons regarding the importance of cultural diversity.
